Ghana’s new Ambassador to Germany states her mission
The Ambassador of Ghana to the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Mrs Gina Ama Blay, presented her letter of credence to His Excellency Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Germany’s President, at Schloss Bellevue on 29 August 2017 in Berlin.
To mark the occasion, a reception attended by many dignitaries was held at Maritim Hotel. It was a colourful occasion since most of the Ghanaians in attendance adorned their African attires. Her Excellency Gina Ama Blay gave an address to mark the event.

She said that in celebrating Ghana’s year-long 60th anniversary, the country could not ignore the fact that it has had very low moments – be it in the political, economic or the international sphere. However, the nation prides itself in the progress, improvements and achievements it has made thus far, among them, the strong beneficial relations it has built with other countries.
She assured that the incumbent government of President Nana Akuffo-Addo was working earnestly to ensure problems such as government’s spending deficits and funding gaps were bridged to take Ghana beyond being a recipient of aid.

In bridging this financial resource gap the Ambassador stated that she would marshal and leverage all the resources at her disposal as well as explore all avenues to deepen relations between Ghana and Germany.
Another area of focus of the Ambassador is the promotion of German investments in Ghana. President Nana Akuffo Addo’s policies and programmes such as “One District, One Factory” and “Planting for Food and Jobs” will go a long way to transform the country’s business environment. Hence, a promotion of German investments will facilitate the transformation of the business environment and stimulate the interest of the German business community in Ghana.
The Ambassador in concluding stated that she was looking forward to tapping the experiences and good counsel of the German authorities as well as those of her colleague ambassadors. Her statement was greeted with a rapturous applause. The occasion ended with handshakes, taking of pictures and a lovely cocktail.
